Nate Hanson's baseball journey runs through a path few Minnesota players have completed: Eden Prairie youth baseball, Eden Prairie American Legion, the University of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Twins organization. In December 2025, Chanhassen High School named him Head Varsity Baseball Coach — and he now leads both sides of Chanhassen Baseball, the Storm in the spring and the Cavaliers all summer.
The story comes full circle here in Chanhassen: as a teenager, Nate played his Legion ball at Eden Prairie under head coach Jeff Gagstetter — now his assistant varsity coach and the Legion program's Director.

A standout infielder who helped lead the Eagles to the 2004 Minnesota Class 3A State Championship, earning All-State, All-Metro, and All-Conference honors while hitting .478 with just 2 strikeouts in 85 plate appearances as a junior.
2004–2005
Led the 2004 Eden Prairie Legion club on its run toward the American Legion World Series, then hit .403 in the 2005 regular season before his dominant .542 state tournament — one of the most impressive tournament performances by an Eden Prairie player of that era.

A two-time First Team All-Big Ten selection who stayed home to star for the Gophers, capping his college career with a .359 average and 22 doubles before the MLB Draft.

Selected by the Twins in the 2008 MLB Draft, Nate played more than 700 professional games across the Twins system, reaching Triple-A Rochester and collecting over 600 hits.
